Best of Barcelona: Restaurants

Barcelona has built a reputation for its melting pot of culinary delights. So much so, that when looking for your next dining destination it can be overwhelming.

We have put together a list of some of our favourite eateries throughout Barcelona. Whether you’re scouting for your next date night spot or catching up with friends over beers and bravas, there is something for everybody.

  • ORVAY

Located in the heart of El Born, Orvay is a buzzing restaurant sharing their passion for gastronomy. They offer an array of small dishes, perfect for sharing and bursting with flavour. You will find a seasonal menu offering some classic tapas dishes with a modern twist. Accompanied by a varied wine list and a relaxed atmosphere, Orvay is a perfect choice for your next date night.

  • LA BALABUSTA

This bright and homely venue houses flavourful food inspired by the Middle East, accompanied by an array of natural wine to pick from. The staff are very approachable and the open layout of the restaurant invites a very comfortable feel. Their share plates of elevated vegetable dishes with middle eastern flavours are a real highlight for your next lunch.

  • CHAKA KHAN

An exotic gastrobar located in El Raval, Chaka Khan offers something for everyone. The venue is divided into two spaces; Chaka is the main floor downstairs, perfect for enjoying cocktails and tapas with funky music and constant chatter among patrons. Upstairs you will find Khan, the more intimate restaurant where you can enjoy watching the open kitchen prepare their dishes inspired by cuisine from Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa. You can also enjoy their tasting menu on Fridays and Saturdays, during which the attentive staff explain the origins of each impactful dish.

  • KINO

This buzzing venue is located right next to the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, where masses of people skateboard everyday. It is the ultimate spot to people watch and enjoy a jug of sangria in the sun. You will often find people waiting to snag a spot outside to enjoy the atmosphere. While I believe a classic patatas bravas cannot be beaten, Kino are known for their unique take on the classic tapas dish and it is absolutely delicious.

  • ALBE
It’s nearly impossible to not be drawn into Albé from the outside, the warmly lit restaurant has a very inviting energy. This energy continues throughout the dining experience with their friendly wait staff and elevated food. Albé describes themselves as a gastrobar offering Catalan dishes with a genuine Lebanese touch. They are a sustainable business so you will often find a menu change with seasons. One highlight is their ‘Lacquered aubergine with pomegranate reduction’, it's truly an incredible experience for your palate.
